A George III Campaign Chair Folding Daybed, by Thomas Butler

The wide upholstered frame raised on turned mahogany legs with brass castor, folding hinged & extending pine bed frame with screw in turned mahogany legs, three down filled cushions. Butler advertised this chair as : ‘Upon the best and most approved principle forming a handsome easy chair, and is with great ease transformed into a Tent Bed, with Furniture and Bedding complete’. English, c.1800.
